Privacy policy

This policy explains what data the GoMarine app and the gomarine.app website process, why, who it is shared with and how to exercise your rights. The data controller is the publisher identified in the legal notice.
The data we process

We do not sell any data and do not use your zones for any purpose other than calculating your forecasts.
Who receives your data
Your data is hosted in the European Union. We use the following service providers:
- Hostinger (EU): hosting of the servers and the database.
- Open-Meteo (EU): receives only the coordinates of the forecast points, with no link to your identity.
- Google: Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications), AdMob (advertising), Google Places (place search), Google sign-in.
- Apple and Meta: sign-in with Apple or Facebook, if you choose these methods.
- [TO CHECK: Twilio?]: sending verification codes by SMS.
- Sentry: collection of error reports.
- Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES, EU): sending verification and alert emails.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union. These transfers are governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- Account, zones and preferences: as long as your account exists. They are deleted when you delete your account.
- Inactive account: deleted after [TO COMPLETE: e.g. 3 years] without sign-in, after a warning email.
- Notification history: [TO COMPLETE: e.g. 180 days].
- Verification codes: a few minutes.
- Backups: [TO COMPLETE: duration], then erasure.
Advertising and consent
The app displays an advertising banner via Google AdMob. On first launch, the app asks whether you accept personalised advertising. You can change your mind at any time: Profile, Ad preferences, Review my consent. Advertising only appears in the mobile app. On iPhone, the app also respects your choice in "Allow Apps to Request to Track" (App Tracking Transparency).
Cookies on this website
The gomarine.app website does not set any audience measurement or advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict its processing, object to its processing and request its portability. You can also withdraw your consent at any time.
- Most data can be changed directly in the app, from your profile.
- To delete your account, follow this procedure.
- For any other request, write to support@gomarine.app. We reply within one month.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr/plaintes).
Minors
GoMarine is intended for people aged 15 and over.
Changes
In the event of a significant change, we notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
